April’s GMA Book: Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke



Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke is the GMA Book Club pick for April. Burke, who received her Master of Fine Arts from the Bennington Writing Seminars, is the co-host of the politics and culture podcast “Diabolical Lies,” and Yesteryear is her first novel. The book follows Natalie Heller Mills, a “traditional” American wife and mother who has built a massive social media following by sharing her picturesque pioneer-inspired lifestyle—raw milk, farm-fresh eggs and all—with her millions of devoted followers. But everything changes when Natalie wakes up one morning in 1855. Watch the segment.
March’s GMA Book: The Secret Lives of Murderers’ Wives by Elizabeth Arnott



The Secret Lives of Murderers’ Wives by Elizabeth Arnott is the GMA Book Club pick for March. Arnott, an award-winning journalist based in London, has also written historical fiction under the name Lizzie Pook. Her work has appeared in publications including The Sunday Times, National Geographic, The New York Times Book Review and The Guardian. Set in 1966 California, The Secret Lives of Murderers’ Wives centers on three unlikely friends—Beverley, Elsie and Margot—whose ex-husbands are convicted killers. Watch the segment.
February’s GMA Book: The Exes by Leodora Darlington



The Exes by Leodora Darlington is the GMA Book Club pick for February. This relationship-focused thriller follows the story of Natalie, who is trying to make sure her husband James does not wind up dead like her three former lovers. While struggling to avoid the lethal fate, Natalie is also forced to reckon with what exactly happened to her former boyfriends, and how each ended up dead. Watch the segment.
January’s GMA Book: Skylark by Paula McLain



Skylark by Paula McLain is the GMA Book Club pick for January. The historical fiction novel focuses on two separate moments in the history of Paris, each of which explores the wondrous underground city beneath the City of Lights. Skylark tells the stories of Alouette Voland, a Parisian dyer who is imprisoned in 1664, and Kristof Larson, a Dutch medical student in Paris who is caught in a precarious situation when the Nazis occupy the city in 1939.
