We are thrilled to announce that we are a 2025 Anthem Award Gold Winner! This award recognizes LFL for granting 200 Little Free Library book-sharing boxes and 40,000 books to Title I schools across the country—the largest grant in LFL’s history—honoring our organization’s milestone of reaching 200,000 Little Free Libraries worldwide.

Our submission “Celebrating 200,000 Little Free Libraries with Gift of Reading for Title I Schools” is a Gold Winner in the category Education, Art & Culture: Community Space. The project was sponsored in part by Penguin Random House, who generously provided a curated list of diverse books for each library—40,000 books in total; Books Unbanned (Brooklyn Public Library and The Seattle Public Library); and Mortenson. The libraries were granted through our Impact Library Program, which provides Little Free Libraries and book support to underserved communities.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsors and the Little Free Library community that made this project possible,” said LFL Executive Director and CEO Daniel Gumnit. “Seeing the students’ faces at the 200 recipient schools gives us hope that a love of reading will grow in every community we reach, and that together we can make book access more equitable for all.”
The Anthem Awards celebrate the impactful, mission-driven work of people, companies, and nonprofit organizations worldwide. It is the largest and most comprehensive social impact award.
