November’s GMA Book: Wreck by Catherine Newman



Wreck by Catherine Newman, the New York Times bestselling author of Catastrophic Happiness, Waiting for Birdy, We All Want Impossible Things, and Sandwich, is the GMA Book Club pick for November. Newman delivers a touching new novel about love, loss, and the messy beauty of family life. In Wreck, readers are reunited with Rocky and her wonderfully quirky family two years after their Cape Cod vacation, detailed in Newman’s novel Sandwich. Watch the segment.
October’s GMA Book: Twice by Mitch Albom



Twice by Mitch Albom, an internationally renowned and bestselling author, journalist, screenwriter, playwright, radio and television broadcaster, and musician, is the GMA Book Club pick for October. Albom’s books have collectively sold 42 million copies worldwide and have been published in 51 territories and in 48 languages around the world, according to a press release. His latest novel, Twice follows Alfie Logan, who discovers he has the extraordinary ability to undo and relive any moment in his life. Watch the segment.
September’s GMA Book: The Book of Lost Hours by Hayley Gelfuso



The Book of Lost Hours by Hayley Gelfuso, a Chicago-based author and poet, is the GMA Book Club pick for September. Gelfuso, who works in the environmental nonprofit sector, has had her poetry on conservation published in the Plumwood Mountain Journal. Her debut novel follows two remarkable women navigating postwar and Cold War-era America, as well as the “time space,” a soaring library filled with the memories of those who witnessed history, accessible only by special watches. August’s GMA Book: Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson



Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson, the New York Times bestselling author of the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series, a young adult crime thriller with millions of copies sold and a hit Netflix series, is the GMA Book Club pick for August. In Not Quite Dead Yet, her first adult novel, Jackson introduces Margaret “Jet” Mason, a young woman who uses her last few days to solve her own murder after being fatally wounded in an assault. July’s GMA Book: The Compound by Aisling Rawle



The Compound by Aisling Rawle, the author’s debut novel, is the GMA Book Club pick for July. The story follows Lily, a bored and beautiful twenty-something who joins a wildly popular reality show set in a remote desert. To win, she must outlast 19 other contestants by surviving in the Compound the longest, competing in challenges for luxury items like champagne and lipstick, as well as essentials to outfit their communal home, such as food, appliances and even a front door. June’s GMA Book: Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid



Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the author behind the No. 1 New York Times bestselling books Daisy Jones & The Six, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Malibu Rising, and Carrie Soto Is Back, is the GMA Book Club pick for June. Set against the backdrop of the 1980s space shuttle program, the novel follows Joan Goodwin, a reserved physics professor at Rice University, who unexpectedly finds herself selected for NASA’s first class of female scientists in space. May’s GMA Book: The Original Daughter by Jemimah Wei



The Original Daughter, the debut novel by Jemimah Wei, a 2024 Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, is the GMA Book Club pick for May. Set in turn-of-the-millennium Singapore, Wei’s novel explores the bonds of family, the price of ambition, and the complexities of sisterhood. Watch the segment.
April’s GMA Book: The Sirens by Emilia Hart



The Sirens by the New York Times bestselling author Emilia Hart is the GMA Book Club pick for April. Like her debut novel, Weyward, this story explores the strength of women—this time through the mysteries of the sea. “A breathtaking tale of female resilience and the bonds of sisterhood across time and space, ‘The Sirens’ captures the power of dreams, and the mystery and magic of the sea,” the book’s synopsis states. March’s GMA Book: Count My Lies by Sophie Stava



Count My Lies by California-based author Sophie Stava is the GMA Book Club pick for March. The novel follows Sloane Caraway, a compulsive liar who fabricates harmless stories to make her mundane life more exciting. But one small lie — telling a handsome father she’s a nurse — lands her a job as a nanny for the wealthy Lockharts, a seemingly perfect New York couple with secrets of their own. Watch the segment.
February’s GMA Book: Junie by Erin Crosby Eckstine



Junie by Brooklyn-based writer Erin Crosby Eckstine is the GMA Book Club pick for February. Eckstine’s novel explores grief, destiny, and the weight of choice. It follows Junie, a young girl who, after awakening her sister’s ghost, must make a life-altering decision while uncovering truths about love, friendship and power as the Civil War looms. January’s GMA Book: Homeseeking by Karissa Chen



Homeseeking by Karissa Chen, a Fulbright, Kundiman Fiction, and VONA/Voices fellow, is an award-winning writer and is the GMA Book Club pick for January.
