Little Free Libraries: An Introduction

By Megan Hanson

What is a Little Free Library, exactly, and how does it work? When you first find out about these free book exchanges, it can be hard to wrap your head around the concept and figure out your first steps.

If you haven’t seen this 2-minute video on how Little Free Libraries work yet, be sure to check it out.

The video below is one of our favorites! Not only does it explain what Little Free Libraries are and how they work, it includes some good tips about where to legally and safely place your Library.

Some of the tips only apply to Minnesota residents, but it’s a good example of the regulations that most cities have in place for installing these types of structures.

A big thank you to Jim Schiffman of Apple Valley, Minnesota for sharing this video!
