As an Educator for 20+ years & mother of 3 biracial young women, I have long been supportive of increasing exposure of all kinds of diversity through literature. Thank you LFL for encouraging others to do so!
From the beginning our library has been focused on diversity in all areas as a way to promote understanding and community.
I’ve been leading the LFDL initiative in my town of Salida Ca for 3 mths! We’ve raised $700 & purchased 80 books so far to add into our growing number of Little Free libraries. Love this!
I’m taking the Read in Color pledge because I am committed to getting books that represent many backgrounds, experiences, identities, and perspectives into the hands of all readers!
To amplify Black and Latinx authors and promote much needed diversity in both Childrens and adult books.
We can best understand all races by reading their stories.

I love this idea. I have lived in my neighborhood for almost 80years. It is a very diverse neighborhood and It’s beautiful to live here.
