Little Free Library Strategic Plan

Building equitable book access is at the heart of our mission. Little Free Library’s strategic plan reflects our commitment to expand book access in under-resourced communities.

Over the next three years, we will place and sustain a Little Free Library book-sharing box in every book desert in the United States. Our goal is to establish 2,500 Little Free Libraries in high-need areas where books are scarce.

Join us! We cannot do this important work without the support of partners, volunteers, and funders. To learn how your organization can be part of this effort, please fill out our Community Partner Application and we will contact you with next steps.

Please note: This form is for organizations ready to place and sustain 10 or more Little Free Library book-sharing boxes. Examples of current community partners include:

  • Neighbor to Neighbor Literacy Project, Chicago, placed more than 200 Little Free Libraries
  • Queen City Book Bank, Cincinnati, to place 200 Little Free Libraries
  • Ready Readers, St. Louis, to place 50 Little Free Libraries
  • Brilliant Detroit, to place 50 Little Free Libraries

For individuals and organizations interested in placing a smaller number of libraries, visit our Programs page for additional opportunities. If you simply have books to share, find Little Free Libraries near you to fill by downloading our mobile app or check out our Steward Book Directory.

Our team, and our families, are honored to work with Little Free Library. Our partnership is a direct way to expose our children to literature they can connect to, as well as an ongoing and sustainable way to engage our community.”
