Little Free Library’s Impact Library Program provides no-cost Little Free Library book-sharing boxes to underserved communities where they can make a meaningful impact on book access and literacy engagement. This month we heard from two stewards who were previously granted libraries through our Impact Library Program and wanted to share their stories.
Additionally, we granted 34 Impact Library Packages to applicants from schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations in October 2023. These new Little Free Libraries will be expanding book access from Florence, SC to Potomac, MT and many areas in between! Each of the Little Free Libraries granted this month were sponsored by Sun-Maid.

“On behalf of the Princeton Oxbow Trail Neighborhood and the GFWC-WI Women’s Club of Princeton, we would like to thank you for granting us with a wonderful Little Free Library (LFL)! We were so excited to get the news of the grant, and even more excited after we installed our LFL! The neighborhood has been using it quite a bit so far! People have been borrowing books and others have added several book donations. We have a Facebook page that I use to share when I have added new books as well as it is a place for neighbors to let me know that they have large quantities of books that they would like to donate. The Women’s Club of Princeton has also donated a large selection of books and will continue to do so.
Thank you so much for supporting a love of reading and neighborhood/community bonding through your generous donation of our Little Free Library! We are working on painting a bench that we will soon be adding next to the library!”

“The McMillan Memorial Library is a branch of the Robeson County Public Library. It is only open 16 hours per week. This community has large populations of Native Americans and Hispanic people and is considered a book desert. We are grateful for the LFL to place outside our library to increase their access to books, especially when the library is not open!”
