Read in Color has arrived in Laurel, MD! Our Kids Read, part of the Spring 2024 Read in Color cohort, celebrated Little Free Library launches at local elementary and middle schools.
“Schools are always so excited when we make the offer of installing a Little Free Library on their school grounds!” Our Kids Read said. “They are thrilled to be able to provide another mechanism to put books in the hands of their students and are even more excited when they learn that the Read in Color books are culturally responsive books. Many thanks to the Little Free Library program for thinking to create this Read in Color branch of the Little Free Library program!”
The Read in Color initiative has launched in 23 U.S. cities to date, from New York and Washington, D.C. to Atlanta and Phoenix, with plans for even greater expansion in the future. More than 250 Read in Color Little Free Libraries and 50,000+ diverse books celebrating Black, Latine, Asian, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, and other important voices have been shared so far.
