As a teacher, I have always tried to broaden the reading experiences of my students and open the world of diversity and unity to them. During these challenging time, I feel that it is even more important to help build a foundation of knowledge, understanding and respect in young readers.
I live in an area that is not very diverse and would like to share a variety of reading options.
We believe in the mission of Read in Color.
It has never been more important than right now to know that all of us are people. It matters not the color of our skin.
Because we must all wake up every day committed to anti-racism and anti-white supremacy.
I live in a diverse neighborhood and want especially the children who visit my library to see their lives reflected there.
