I believe sharing diverse books will go a long way for equality and compassion in our country.
It’s vitally important that children see themselves in and therefore can identify with the characters of the books they read (or are read to them).
As a white person, I need to learn about the struggles of BIPOC and work for their equal treatment and opportunities. I hope I can others learn, too.
It’s past time for us to recognize other groups in the books we read and provide to others.
Books help us to discover who we are and can become. Diverse role models help us to understand ourselves and others.
Spread love through education
