I think it’s good to have.
I want every student to see themselves in a book.
I was a child who never saw myself in books. Now I write for children.
We all need to recognize people like ourselves in the books we read, and to learn to understand snd celebrate that those we don’t initially recognize.
Its past due
Because representation matters and through our little free library we can help our community to both find themselves in the stories they read and to experience cultures and stories that aren’t their own… helping to create a more empathetic, informed, and anti-racist community.
