I would like to bring awareness to the importance of access to diverse books.
As a minority family ourselves, I believe it is highly important for kids (and adults) to incorporate reading books with characters they can relate to. I am proud to share these books in my library!
I am taking the Read in Color pledge to promote diversity in community, reading diverse books, engaging children in a colorful world!
Every should be comfortable in who they are and what they read.
My pledge is to brighten and enlighten my world through reading about the extraordinary communities, people, stories and history I’ve yet to explore.. Knowledge and literacy are the wealth of our nation and gift that should be accessible to all who live here.
