Get Involved

Read in Color® aims to help distribute books that share different perspectives on race and social justice, as well as literature by BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and other marginalized voices. By reading diverse books, we believe a more inclusive future can grow.

The foundation of this program rests with you, our network of Little Free Library stewards and supporters, to bring this initiative forward. Our goal is to provide a robust selection of diverse books to every steward who wishes to participate. Together, we will work toward a more unified, empathetic, and understanding community.

Apply to be a Read in Color Partner

Twice yearly, we will open applications to organizations interested in participating in a Read in Color cohort. A selection committee of Little Free Library staff and stakeholders will review applications and invite the strongest applicants to participate in a six-month cohort experience.

For more information on the Read in Color program and the program cohort experience, please view our information packet and reach out to Program Manager Lexie Neeley at readincolor@littlefreelibrary.org with any questions regarding the program or application process.
