Shop Where Your Purchase Supports Little Free Library

Little Free Library’s Bookshop.org Storefront

Bookshop.org is an online bookstore that makes it easy to buy books while financially supporting local, independent bookstores. When you shop through Little Free Library’s Bookshop.org storefront, your purchase triggers at 10% commission to both local bookstores and the LFL nonprofit organization. Purchases from our Bookshop storefront support our programs, including the Impact Library Program, which serves high-need communities, and Read in Color, our diverse books initiative.

Interstate Books4School

Little Free Library has partnered with Interstate Books4School to make low-cost books available to little library stewards and friends. Book prices start at $1! Choose from the Valu-Book collection for lowest costs. English, Spanish, and bilingual books are available; options include books for infants through grade 12. A portion of every book purchase from Books4School is donated to the Little Free Library organization! At checkout step #5, click “Yes, this is a Little Free Library order.” Your cost is not affected!

We are a used bookstore in Mesa, Arizona. Currently, any registered LFL steward in Arizona can come into our location and pick out up to 20 books a week for free. (From a pre-sorted selection)

Project 99A is a volunteer run, Canadian not-for-profit organization focused on elevating literacy. One of the ways we do this is by collecting books and donating them to those in need.

Send an e-mail message to: info@Project99A.ca with your name, your organization (if applicable), why you need books and the types of books you require. Books are only available for pick-up in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Books for children living in poverty

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA LFL IMPACT BOXES ONLY.
We will provide a curated selection of gently used and new children's books for Little Free Libraries that are part of the LFL Impact program in communities where 80% or more are living in poverty. Books are available within the San Francisco Bay Area for pickup from our Palo Alto or San Francisco locations only. Sorry — we do not ship books.

Please email us at books@accessbooksbayarea.org to request books for your Little Free Library box. Please be prepared to provide documentation of the demographics of the community where it is located. Demographics for schools in your area that include percentage receiving free and reduced lunch can be found on https://www.ed-data.org/. Please include in your request the age range served by your LFL. We can provide books for TK-8th grade. Books can be picked up in San Francisco at the listed address, or in Palo Alto at the home of one of our board members. Please include in your request which pick up location would work best for you.

Fill-a-Bag with Free Books from our Overstock

We have ongoing overstock of Genre Fiction books —particularly hardcovers— and welcome any confirmed Steward to stock up with us. Hardcovers all have dust jackets. Paperbacks may be 'reading copies'

Contact us by phone or email with your request at least 2-days in advance (we are closed Tuesdays). Let us know if you are needing 1 or 2 bags of books and if you would like us to select them for you, or if you would prefer to do so yourself. If there are specific authors or titles you are looking to include, please let us know! Free books are from our Overstock, and all are in 'gently read' condition. We will also include free bookmarks when available. If any books have stayed over long in your LittleFreeLibrary we are happy to take them in for Store Credit. Books from our Regular Inventory are generally $4-5. We do reserve some books for purchase by our regular customers, specifically some harder to keep in stock Non-Fiction and Diversity reads.

First Book Marketplace

First Book is a non-profit that provides access to free and low-cost new books for those who work with children from low-income families. That includes LFL stewards serving low-income communities!

You will need to register with First Book and be prepared to prove that your little library serves at least 70% children from low-income families. Click the link below to learn more and register with First Book.

Free Children’s books for MN LFL stewards

The Free Book Buggie is a nonprofit dedicated to providing access to free children’s books throughout the 7 county Mpls/St. Paul MN metro region.  Help us share the love of reading with children through your LFL!

Gift of Literacy

Hindi's Libraries donates new and gently used children's books (infant-adult) to recipients serving children and families in need. Our mission is to continue the legacy of Dr. Hindi Krinsky.

While we typically send 1-2 boxes of books at a time, we can perpetually send you books if you qualify. Please complete the donation request form on our website or contact us directly at leslie@hindislibraries.com

Free new and gently used books available 24/7/365 for stewards in Tampa Bay, FL. You must pick up. All ages, board book through adult. Includes Read in Color book section for committed stewards.

The book boxes are available to access 24/7/365 for Little Free Library stewards. They are organized by type (board books, picture books, leveled readers, early and middle grade, young adult, and adult) and are new or gently used quality. The book box is always full thanks to the generosity of the community and our partnerships with local book retailers and warehouses. Most books fall into the fiction category, but there is some nonfiction as well. We have a dedicated Read in Color section for our stewards who are seeking to bring diverse books to their neighborhood.

The Book Thing of Baltimore

MISSION To put unwanted books into the hands of those who want them. All books are FREE. Books you take must be stamped, ”Not for Resale.” During COVID, giveaway days are scheduled 1x / month.
