Little Free Library’s Impact Library Program provides no-cost Little Free Library book-sharing boxes to underserved communities where they can make a meaningful impact on book access and literacy engagement. This month we heard from two stewards who were previously granted libraries through our Impact Library Program and wanted to share their stories.
Additionally, we granted nine Impact Library Packages to applicants from schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations in February 2025. These new Little Free Libraries will be expanding book access from Old Bridge, NJ, to Keaʻau, HI, and many areas in between! “I was an Impact Library Program recipient during the pandemic. The Little Free Library allowed my remote students to access books during a time when our school’s library was unavailable to them. My students and their parents were extremely excited to have access to the Little Free Library. I hosted an outdoor, socially-distanced read aloud to celebrate the opening of our library and it was a big success!”

“Thanks again for the grant—our neighborhood loves it. It’s used all the time and we got so many kudos for putting it up! The initial kids books you all sent were a HIT—they’ve all been ‘checked out’!”
