Books Fly Off Airport Little Free Library Shelves

By Sarah Nelson

For many bookworms, a book—or two, or three—is an essential when packing for a trip. But sometimes we forget to pack one or just aren’t in the mood for the novel we’ve packed. While some of us are lucky enough to have an independent bookstore at our airport (shoutout to Open Books at MSP!), airport Little Free Library book-sharing boxes are where it’s at!

Little Free Libraries have been popping up at airports across the United States over the last few years. A Little Free Library is the perfect solution when you need a book to read on your flight or just need to lighten your load. Take a look at some of the Little Free Library book exchanges we’ve discovered at airports, and let us know if you’ve spotted any others!

Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport in Warwick, Rhode Island

There are some unofficial libraries and book-lending stations at airports from coast to coast, too, including a Basin PBS lounge at the airport in Midland, Texas.
