Children and adults should be exposed to perspectives different than those in their home for a better understanding of others. In the social media age, we need more context to all that we’re exposed to. Broadening our views aids us in becoming more responsible and impactful global citizens.

It is important to show support for all cultures by having books that represent who they are and tell their story. I am a social worker by trade and understand that embracing diversity and fighting for equality is very important.

I’m trying to share my lifelong love of reading to the children in my neighborhood. Books can take you anywhere in the world. The mostly low income culturally diverse children who live in the apartment house and walk past my house for school will love the books.
