Stories change lives. With such high stakes, it matters immensely that all voices and experiences are represented. I signed the Read in Color pledge because I believe that when we all share our stories, we grow in unity and community.
I believe in the Read in Color pledge mission and want to do my small part to support literacy and access to diverse books in my neighborhood.
I’m taking the pledge because stories matter. It’s important that people can see themselves in what they read and diverse perspectives help us understand ourselves better and find common ground with others.
I believe education is a form of activism. Everyone should be able to become educated through their love of books.
I love books and I want all people to love books and to be able to connect to characters and stories that represent the full diversity of people in our world.
