I believe representation in books is so important. Growing up, almost all books I read were all white characters. I remember loving The Babysitter’s Club because It actually had an Asian character! I include diverse books in my library whenever possible!

Families acquired land, and worked in maritime boat building industries. Today our bi-lingual LFL serves descendants of these families alongside Latino neighbors starting their a new life in Maryland.
