It’s essential for all children to see themselves in the books they read! Books provide windows and mirrors. As a teacher for years and now mom to a son with a disability, I have witnessed firsthand the power representation has on young readers!
Reading is the key to unlocking so many things!
Voices, stories, and perspectives of color matter! We’re all in this world together, and we need to listen to each ot her. When we take the time to listen to someone, we begin to know them—which opens the door to respect, support, empathy, and friendship.

Bethlehem’s Little Library started after the relief work in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis. We believe everyone should have access to books and see themselves reflected in them. We work to keep our library stocked with books that reflect our values of inclusivity, hope, unity, and community.
