Lady Liberty in the New York harbor raises her arm to include everyone. Our country was founded by immigrants. We must read about all the colors of our immigrant heritage.
My family is multicultural, and so is extended family . We want them to be proud of all of their cultures and colors and languages and respect others with the Golden Rule through reading.

I live in a diverse city where there are young readers who need to read about minority characters. (This includes kids who aren’t minorities too, of course.)
I think it is so important for kids to see themselves represented in books!
I want more unity and inclusion for my kids grandchildren and other younger generations to come
