Reading is an educational avenue and sharing books about all kinds of people is a great way to further this.
In hopes to help create change for the better in my little neighborhood.
I fell in love with reading in grade 2 and grew up to be a published author of #ownvoices literature. I bring books to LFLs located in neighborhoods all over Baltimore because I believe everyone should have the joy of choosing and keeping their own books.
I’m a public librarian determined to diversify our library’s collection so that everyone can Read in Color.
The REAL Program exists to improve literacy in Lynn, MA where the 100,000+ residents are mostly new Americans; where there is only one public library and children need access to books.
as a diverse, LGBTQ+ family of women of color, we strongly align with reading, engaging and sharing diverse books for our community.
I support the gift of diversity!
This principle already guides what I buy for my granddaughters. I hope to share the message with my faith community, which is working hard to develop and share a culture of anti racism.
