I would like to have all children have the opportunity to have diversity in their lives or reading.
I live in a very diverse community and want everyone to find something for them!
To be able to bring cultural awareness and a feeling of acceptance to one young reader would be enough. Plus the opportunity to share perspectives on diversity and inclusion with adult readers can only improve our neighborhood and the greater community we all share.
Diversity & Inclusion matters.
I want my library, which is at the busiest playground in our city, to include diverse books to represent the diverse group of people who enjoy access to my books. I want my readers to see people like them in books but also to enjoy reading about those unlike them.
To provide a diverse selection of books to a diverse population.
Seeing a child excited about finding a book in my LFL with a character similar to them makes the heart joyful!
