Little Free Library’s Impact Library Program provides no-cost Little Free Library book-sharing boxes to underserved communities where they can make a meaningful impact on book access and literacy engagement. This month we heard from two stewards who were previously granted libraries through our Impact Library Program and wanted to share their stories.
Additionally, we granted 17 Impact Library Packages to applicants from schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations in September 2024. These new Little Free Libraries will be expanding book access from Springdale, AR to Bridgeville, DE, and many areas in between! Learn more about where we’ve placed Impact Library Program awards over the years.

“We are honored and deeply grateful to Mercedes Benz USA (through collaborations with LFL & Read 4 Unity) for their donation of two Little Free Library units to Griot Arts in Mississippi. This gift and the amazing diverse books from Read 4 Unity will serve as a beacon of knowledge and inspiration for our young artists and community members in underserved areas. The support from you all will not only provide access to books but also encourage creativity and learning in our space. We are excited to see the positive impact these Little Free Library units will have on our community. Thank you!” From Rebekah Pleasant-Patterson, Executive Director of Griot Arts in Clarksdale MS

“Our Free Little Library was installed on Saturday! This library is at Bulverde Methodist church and is part of what we are calling a ‘trinity of provision.’ The church is located in an underserved area and recently the pastor had a vision of having a row of pantries! These tiny pantries hold non perishable food, toiletries and household supplies, and now books! They are trying to be ‘Wholisitc’-caring for the ‘Whole’ person-mind body and spirit!
I am seeking books in Spanish-adult or children. Bulverde is just north of San Antonio and there seems to be a large population of Spanish speaking families seeking books. Thank you for the gift of books you have sent us along with the tote bag! Reading provides so many opportunities, and some just do not have access to these opportunities!”
