Raise your hand if you’ve ever stayed up late finishing a John Grisham novel because you had to know how it ends. (Hand raised!)
Because we love can’t-put-them-down books and our Little Free Library community, we were thrilled to partner with superstar author John Grisham and Doubleday on a major giveaway for Little Free Library stewards and friends.
The “Great Grisham Giveaway” kicked off last fall when John Grisham and his team donated 25 advance copies of his newest novel The Reckoning only to registered Little Free Library stewards. (Learn how to register your Little Library here.) To enter the contest, participants told us the title of their favorite Grisham book—and promised they wouldn’t share spoilers of the new legal thriller before its release date.
Next one hundred Little Free Library stewards won finished copies of The Reckoning to celebrate its publication. Each winner received two copies of the book—one to keep, and one to place in their Little Libraries. All across the country these book recipients shared excitement and photos as they populated Little Free Libraries nationwide with the new Grisham hardcover.
Now we’re beyond excited to announce the grand-prize winner of the Great Grisham Giveaway: Laurie F. from Pewaukee, Wisconsin! Laurie is the recipient of a stunning collection of all forty John Grisham books—autographed by the author himself—and a Little Free Library. She entered the contest by correctly answering ten trivia questions about Grisham’s books. Laurie is now sharing the collection with her book club and planning her Little Free Library grand opening.
“With my book group we all chose a John Grisham book to read, and we are getting together in February for a discussion where we will each talk about the book we read and compare and contrast themes,” says Laurie. “Thank you . . . my friends are all thrilled to read the books and we can’t wait to install the Little Free Library!”
John Grisham is known as “America’s Favorite Storyteller.” Since first publishing A Time to Kill in 1988, Grisham has written one novel a year, with favorites including The Firm, The Pelican Brief, The Client, The Rainmaker, The Runaway Jury, and Skipping Christmas. There are more than 300 million John Grisham books in print worldwide. Keep up with him on Facebook or Twitter, where he shared that he’s a fan of the Little Free Library community, too!
