Help Raise Funds for the Little Free Library Nonprofit

Raise Awareness and Funds for Little Free Library

If you’re ready to share your excitement and raise funds to support the Little Free Library nonprofit organization, both Facebook Fundraisers and House Parties are fun and effective ways to bring others into the Little Free Library circle of supporters. Your support will help us grant little libraries to high-needs communities through our Impact Library Program and expand programs like Read in Color that aim to spread diverse books and amplify BIPOC voices.

If you raise $100 or more for Little Free Library through a Facebook or House Party Fundraiser, you’ll earn a 100,000th library commemorative medallion! IMPORTANT: After you run your fundraiser, fill out the form at the bottom of this page to request your medallion. By submitting the form, you notify LFL staff that you have run a fundraiser so that we may follow up with you.

A Facebook Fundraiser is easy to set up and offers a convenient way for friends and family to donate to a cause you care about. You can get started in just ten minutes—here’s how:

1. Click here to start a Facebook Fundraiser.
2. Edit the goal amount and personalize the description of the fundraiser if you wish.
3. When you’re ready to go live, click “Create” at the bottom of the pop-up window.
4. Be sure to share your fundraiser and thank people as they donate. You may want to jump start your fundraiser by having a couple people ready to make donations right away.

Please note any funds raised through Facebook Fundraisers run on behalf of the Little Free Library (LFL) nonprofit organization using our tax-exempt status will be transferred directly to the LFL organization to support our nonprofit programs. In accordance with IRS regulations, we cannot apply those funds towards a purchase in our online store.

Thinking About a House Party?

Note: In light of COVID-19, please follow the advice of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and your local health authorities to know what is safe for your community. A Facebook Fundraiser is a great alternative to an in-person gathering, or consider hosting a virtual House Party instead.

It doesn’t need to be complicated: pick a date and invite your friends, family, neighbors, or colleagues over for a celebration—it can be as formal or informal as you like. We suggest offering some snacks and beverages, and letting everybody know that you will give a presentation during the event.

The goal of the presentation is to encourage people to donate to support Little Free Library’s mission. You could bring in a guest speaker, play a short video, or go through a PowerPoint presentation (available on the House Party Kit page.) You know Little Free Library—you can do this!
